Okayama’s premier cherry blossom viewing spot, surrounded by 1000 cherry blossom trees.
Behold Tsuyama Castle (Kakuzan Park), a popular spot that has been selected for “Japan’s 100 Finest Castles” as well as “Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Sites.” Also known as Bitchu Yagura, Tsuyama Castle was restored in 2005 to commemorate the 400th year since its construction, which has led to it becoming a well-known spot. Along with its magnificent stone wall that towers 45m above the ground, Tsuyama Castle boasts over 1000 cherry blossom trees. The illuminated cherry blossoms seen from the top of the stone wall offer a stunning view. Even amongst the many great locations in western Japan, Tsuyama Castle is a must see for visitors within the region.
