Hiroshima City's Naka Incineration Plant, located at the southern end of Yoshijima-ku in Hiroshima, is a state-of-the-art waste treatment facility that opened in 2004. Designed by architect Yoshio Taniguchi, its beautiful design is a major departure from the image of conventional waste treatment facilities. It is characterized by cutting-edge technology and architectural beauty, which together embody the commitment to addressing environmental issues. Particularly noteworthy is the glass corridor called the "Ecorium." Designed to allow visitors to view the large machinery that processes exhaust gas, the "Ecorium" makes it possible for visitors to appreciate environmental conservation efforts in the same way as an art exhibition. The facility is also known as a filming location for movies, and its beautiful design and unique concept make it a popular spot for both architecture and film fans. Visitors can tour the facility freely, making it a good place to drop by whenever you wish to.
